Manchester City ready to trigger Saul Niguez £150m release clause

The Citywatch reveal Manchester City are willing to obliterate their club record to sign Spain midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid, journalist Juanfe Sanz has sensationally claimed on El Chiringuito TV.

Appearing on one one of El Chiringuito TV‘s regular features where they invite different journalists on to share exclusives, Sanz made the big reveal last night by claiming Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to trigger the €150 million (£135.5 million) release clause of 24-year-old Saul, one of La Liga’s top midfielders.

This news comes a week after City mysteriously put the brakes on a £66.6 million club record deal to sign Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.

One of the theories behind that happening was FFP concerns, which would surely then rule out paying more than double for the versatile Saul.

However, the 15-cap Spain international has become a priority target for Guardiola according to Juanfe Sanz, with the central midfield position a major priority due to the over reliance of Fernandinho, who Pep said City would ‘kill’ if they kept playing him so much.
