De Bruyne warns Liverpool can sustain momentum
Kevin De Bruyne believes Liverpool can sustain their Premier League title challenge, having moved above the Cityzens in the race for the Premier League honours.
The Reds reclaimed their spot at the top of the table after the champions briefly went above them with a 3-1 win over their locale rivals on Saturday.
Two goals from Xherdan Shaqiri made the difference against a very poor Manchester United side that would have failed to score a goal had it not been for an Alisson's blunder in front of goal gave Jesse Lingaard a chance to cancel out Sadio Mane's first half opener.
“To be fair I’m not too worried about them – they will do what they do and we’ll have to try to win our games and go forward.
“I don’t know why they can’t sustain it. I think they will go on to the end."
“They’ll try to keep pace with us and vice versa. But it’s still early. There’s no pressure we need to do what we do.”
Manchester City trail Liverpool by a one point gap having slipped up against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Nevertheless, the Centurion champions will certainly keep the pressure on, as they are now look more equipped with the return of Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne who both missed their defeat against Chelsea due to lingering injury concerns.
