Virgil van Dijk plays down City dominance

Liverpool's Dutch International; Virgil van Dijk has revealed he isn't bothered about Manchester City's terrific form, he is rather focused on leading to mount a serious title challenge.

Manchester City might be flying in the Premier League, but Virgil van Dijk suggests Liverpool want the title this season, and are doing their very best to make that happen.

The Reds trail Manchester City by two points, and it seems after some very impressive display by the Cityzens that saw them victorious in 4 out of their last 5 matches in the Premier League.

“They are the champions and the best team in the league but we will try everything to be as good as we can.

“We don’t have to look at others, we want to look at the games we have and the next challenge we have at Liverpool is Watford away, which is going to be tough.

Liverpool are working towards bridging the 25 pointed deficit the trailed Manchester City at the end of 2017/2018 season as the look revived with greater ambitions.

“The season is very long. They [City] are not going to win every game 5-0 and are going to have tough games like everyone else.

“We need to look at what we have ahead of us and that is more important than looking at someone else. It is the only way forward.”

The League tussle resumes after the International break, as the reigning champions; Manchester City will travel to London Olympic Stadium to take on Manuel Pellegrini's West ham while Liverpool to face Watford at the Vicarage Road on November 24.
