Moura believes Tottenham can overpower Manchester City
Lucas Moura believes Spurs can overpower Manchester City and win the Premier League.
Looking ahead of Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal having crushed Chelsea last weekend.
Moura, a title winner four times with former club Paris Saint Germain, said: “I believe.
“It’s very, very difficult, I know. I don’t know when, one or two years ago, but Leicester won the Premier League. So I think we are very good and we can do this.
Tottenham Hotspur were beaten at Wembley by Pep Guardiola’s men last month and sit third, five points off the leaders.
But Spurs have won their last six games in all competitions and have the joint-second best defence in the country.
Speaking about a potential reunion with his former Manager Unai Emery seems rather displeased with the possibilities of getting reacquainted with the man that made life unbearable for him.
Arsenal boss caused "worst seven months of my life. In football, we never know what will happen. That’s why football is so beautiful and a lot of people love football."
“So we need to believe, we need to work hard and enjoy each opportunity that we have.”
In Emery's debut season, 2016-17, Moura made 53 appearances in all competitions, scoring 19 goals.
But the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe limited his opportunities, with Moura making just six appearances ahead of his £25million January move to Spurs.
“I forget the last five or six months that I had at PSG," he adds. "And I like to think about the four years when I was very happy there and I won a lot of trophies.
"The last year was to learn and to grow up. Now I am a more experienced player and more strong.”
Manchester City sit top of the League with two points above Liverpool and four points above Tottenham Hotspur in second and third position respectively, going into the weekend's fixtures.
With both side set to get engaged in tough derby fixtures, the Cityzens could strengthen their grip on the pinnacle of the League Standings, if they don't slip up against a tricky Bournemouth side
