Inter Milan considers Mangala a solution to their broken defence

Italian giants; Inter Milan are seriously hunting for defensive reinforcements following their embarrassing 4-1 heavy defeat to Atalanta before the International break and could consider signing Manchester City's forgotten French defender.

The Tuttosport newspaper reports today that the Italians have placed Eliaquim Mangala on a secondary list of defenders under consideration for next summer. That list is comprised of three experienced centre-backs who are out of contract next summer and thus available for no transfer fee.

Mangala, who has been linked with Inter in the past, is on that list with Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen and veteran Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid.

Inter may turn to those three but are first and foremost exploring two possible deals for Joachim Andersen (Sampdoria) and Gianluca Mancini (Atalanta) and hope that excellent relations with those clubs could make negotiations possible.

Eliquim Mangala has just recovered from a long-term injury that ended a loan spell at Everton after just two games following his temporary switch in the January window. The 8-cap France international has been training with Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad but appears to have no future at the Etihad and seems destined to leave either in January or when his contract is up in June 2019.
