Juventus raises possibility of Higuain exit amid Chelsea and Inter links

Higuain, 30, has been on the books of Juve since the summer of 2016, when the Bianconeri made immediate use of the massive transfer fee brought in from Manchester United for Paul Pogba to nab the hitman from rivals Napoli.
The 90 million Euro transfer fee, an uncharacteristically hefty one on the part of Juve, came after Higuain had netted a record-breaking 36 goals in 35 Serie A outings for Napoli during the 2015/16 campaign.
After finding the net on 32 occasions across all competitions during his debut campaign in Turin, Higuain’s production dropped this season, though the Argentine nevertheless managed to find the 23 times.
However, despite his 55 goals in two seasons in Turin, there have been questions raised, particularly this past season, regarding Higuain’s general link-up play, with many of the opinion that, despite his goalscoring pedigree being of an unquestionable level, the veteran’s all-round game leaves a lot to be desired.
As such, rumours have begun to mount in the Italian media that Juventus could decide to part ways with Higuain this summer, with the former Real Madrid man having been touted as a makeweight in deals for both Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi.
And, speaking to reporters earlier today, Juve director John Elkann did little to dampen the rumours that the Old Lady’s first-choice centre-forward could be on the move over the coming months, with the Italian having revealed that discussions over Higuain’s future will take place following the Argentine’s return from this summer’s World Cup:
‘It’s very difficult to judge the transfer market in a World Cup year.’
‘Anything can happen. We’ll see after the World Cup, but there’s not much I can say now.’

Gonzalo Higuain would be at International duty with Argentina as he looks forward to lead his national team World Cup glory in Russia.
